Joining the library can be good for your health and well-being. Just 6 minutes of reading can reduce stress by up to two thirds! Our services are here to support you and your community. We offer a welcoming space, valuable free resources and a variety of events.
Blood Pressure Monitors
1 in 10 adults do not know they have high blood pressure. You can now borrow a blood pressure monitor to track your health. Our easy-to-use monitors are available to pick up from your local library. You can use them to monitor your hypertension or check your well-being. You can fill out a blood pressure diary and drop it into your local surgery for your GP to check.

The Read Well Collection
In partnership with The Reading Agency, Cornwall Libraries offers The Read Well Collection. Collections of books to support well-being through the power of Reading. Health Professionals helped to create the collection of books. It includes topics like anxiety, depression, stress and general mental health. It also include uplifting fiction for comfort.
Social Groups
We understand the impact of loneliness and depression on mental health. Your local library can help. There are lots of different groups. Book groups, knit and natter clubs, rhyme time sessions or crafting events. The groups can help to build connections with others. Joining a group at the library can be a simple but effective way to reduce isolation and boost your mood.
