Cornwall Council are proud to announce we are accepting applications for our July 2026 Work Experience programme for year 10 students.
The work experience weeks will be held at New County Hall in Truro and Chy Trevail in Bodmin.
13th – 17th July – County Hall, Truro
20th – 24th July – Chy Trevail, Bodmin
What can you expect?
Completing your work experience with Cornwall Council will help you build skills, confidence, and awareness of career opportunities whilst learning about Cornwall Council's mission. You’ll contribute to real projects and deliver a project presentation, meet senior leaders, and gain insight into how a large public sector organisation operates as well as experiencing great networking opportunities. It’s a great first step into exploring the world of work.
What workshops are being held as part of the week?
Our work experience week will consist of day-long workshops with some of our services within the council, including the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service and Cornwall Council’s Regulatory Services departments. These workshops will culminate in projects to be delivered throughout the week.
Who can apply?
This programme is being launched for year 10 students for the 2025-26 academic year.

The closing date for applications will be the 6th January, 2026.
The application process will help you gain the skills you need to enable you to complete future job applications. It’s really important your application form is completed fully and to the best of your ability.
