It's OK to talk about mental health

Our How Are You Really Feeling campaign supports everyone to feel more confident in taking action to take care of their mental health and wellbeing –  with tips on how to ask if someone is really OK. Highlighting a range of self-care actions to promote good mental health and tackle common problems, as well as signposting wider resources and services for those in greater need, our aim is to support our Cornwall and Isles of Scilly community to be better informed and equipped to look after their own mental health and support others.

The idea for this campaign came from the Cornwall Towards Zero Suicide collaborative conferences held over 2016 and 2017 which is a multi-agency approach funded by the Duchy Charity.

For those who want to learn more about common problems there are more in-depth modules on stress, sleeplessness, anxiety and low mood. There is also information on Trauma, OCD, panic and social anxiety.  Each module contains information on what can cause changes in people’s mental  health, possible signs to look out for, advice on things you can do and importantly, explain what’s OK and when people should seek further support, including links to IAPT. Advice is also available for those who want to support others who are struggling with their mental health.
