Helping Cornwall's Homeowners become energy efficient with Lendology's Green Home Improvement Loan Scheme
Cornwall Council has teamed up with Lendology CIC to offer Home Improvement Loans. The Green Home Improvement Loan Scheme, will help homeowners fund energy efficiency improvements.
Cornwall Council has appointed Lendology CIC to run a pilot scheme part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Homeowners have a critical role to play in reducing carbon emissions. We need to make our homes energy efficient, healthier and cheaper to run but this can be costly. This is another option for homeowners who can't access grant funding or mainstream lending.
Who can apply?
The Green, Home Improvement Scheme aims to support those in greatest need:
- Homeowners who are unlikely to be able to access mainstream lending (e.g. due to employment/income status, credit history, age, or other circumstances);
- Homeowners deemed to be in fuel poverty;
- Homeowners with children under 16 years of age;
- Homeowners with long-term health issues or disabilities;
- Park home owners.
- Private landlords can apply if they are making energy efficiency improvements to their private rental sector properties that will have a clear, positive impact on the lives of their tenants.
- The scheme is not open to properties used as holiday lets or second homes
