Helping Cornwall's Homeowners become energy efficient with Lendology's Home Improvement Loan Schemes
Cornwall Council is working with Lendology CIC to offer flexible Home Improvement Loans. The loans will help local residents and private sector landlords make improvements to their properties. The Green Home Improvement Loan is still available for energy-saving upgrades. However, it is now part of a wider scheme that covers a broader range of home repairs and improvements.
Homeowners have a critical role to play in reducing carbon emissions. We need to make our homes energy efficient, healthier and cheaper to run but this can be costly. This is another option for homeowners who can't access grant funding or mainstream lending.
Who can apply?
The Home Improvement Scheme aims to support those in greatest need:
- Homeowners who are unlikely to be able to access mainstream lending (e.g. due to employment/income status, credit history, age, or other circumstances);
- Homeowners deemed to be in fuel poverty;
- Homeowners with children under 16 years of age;
- Homeowners with long-term health issues or disabilities;
- Park home owners.
- Private landlords can apply if they are making energy efficiency improvements to their private rental sector properties that will have a clear, positive impact on the lives of their tenants.
- The scheme is not open to properties used as holiday lets or second homes
