Complaints Guidance

Please ensure that you read the information below before completing your form:

A complaint can cover:

  • any concerns you have about a service
  • or member of staff that have not met the standard you would expect

The Complaints Procedure cannot be used to challenge the professional opinion of a member of staff. We are also not permitted to look into some matters that are past or current, including:

  • court proceedings
  • tribunals
  • disciplinary proceedings
  • criminal proceedings

This may also include social care assessments that have been used in court or events
that happened during the court process.

In some circumstances a complaint investigation can be deferred until these proceedings have concluded. However, it is not possible to challenge a decision made by any of the above proceedings through the Complaints Procedure. This is a matter for you to discuss with your legal representative.
