The Family Information Service (FIS) supports families across Cornwall with free and impartial information and advice.
We are here to help families with children and young people aged 0-19, or until 25 if the young person has a special educational need or disability (SEND).
Information on leisure, health, education, parenting and much more can be found on the FIS website.
Childcare and funding
The Family Information Service is the official source of all Ofsted-registered childcare providers available in Cornwall and can help with all your childcare enquiries.
You can search for childcare in Cornwall and find out about the different types of childcare, whether your child is eligible for funding and what other help may be available on the Support in Cornwall Childcare and Early Years page.
Leisure
Discover affordable, family-friendly events, clubs for your children and holiday activities throughout the county. Find ideas for educational leisure activities to try at home, to help you aid your child’s development in a fun and interactive way.
You can find what else Cornwall has to offer on the Support in Cornwall Leisure page.
SEND Local Offer
The Support in Cornwall website is also host to the SEND Local Offer.
The SEND Local Offer aims to help families of children and young people with SEND, by gathering useful information they need to know, in one place, so they can make informed choices about the support they receive.
So if your child has SEND and you are not sure where to go for help, just look on the website for the ‘LO’ symbol or give the team a call.
