‘Nature is in decline. Just protecting what we have is not enough, we need your help to grow nature in Cornwall’.
Help pollinators and sow some colour at New County Hall!
Please join Cllr. Sue James in sowing wildflower seed on Tuesday 19 March at 9:30am outside New County Hall main reception.
Wear flat shoes that you won't mind getting muddy!
As part of Cornwall Urban Buzz and Cornwall’s Pollinator Action Plan, Cornwall Council has teamed up with Buglife to create ‘bubbles of wildflowers’ at New County Hall. Sown with a mixture of annuals and perennials, the area will provide an oasis of food and shelter for insects during the summer months.
Wildflowers require less management than grass and will be maintained with pollinators in mind. So as the seasons change, if you think it looks a little untidy, remember that bugs and birds need some natural messiness for year round forage and refuge.
