Hens Kernow Gleth (Bodmin to Devon via Bude)
The North Cornwall Trail from Bodmin to the Devon border is a 40.5 mile (64.6km) mostly on road trail that is suitable for cyclists, walkers and horse riders.
Description of the trail
Overlapping with the West Country Way, the first part of the route follows the upper reaches of The Camel Trail out of Bodmin and onto the quiet lanes of Bodmin Moor.
From the beautiful village of Blisland, the route wends its way to Camelford. Sections of the trail offer panoramic views across to the coast before dipping back into more sheltered valley bottoms.
Heading north, the trail crosses some of the most remote parts of Cornwall. Once past the village of Hallworthy it is possible to choose between a more strenuous route via the coast and the dramatic cliffs of Millook, or an easier inland route through Week-St- Mary. From Bude the route turns east through the pretty village of Marhamchurch. The trail then crosses the county boundary into Devon and links into the National Cycle Network at Holsworthy.

How to get there
There are a number of ways that you can get to the North Cornwall trail.
Rail: Bodmin Parkway is the nearest mainline station approximately 3 miles from the trail. From Bodmin Parkway you can then catch the steam train on the Bodmin and Wenford railway - please check the timetable before travelling as the steam trains run at different times throughout the week. Alternatively you can cycle from Bodmin Parkway to Bodmin Town and the start of the Camel Trail by following signs to Lanhydrock and picking up route 3 the Cornish Way. There are no other rail connections to the Trail.
Car: View a map of the trail to find out how to get there by car. There are a number of council car parks located along the trail, view the map below to see where these are located.
Bus: There are a number of bus stops along the trail, buses also run to many of the nearby towns and villages. You can find information about timetables and tickets on the Traveline South West website.
