New reporting tool makes it easier for people to find support

An online form that allows people to directly report safeguarding concerns about an adult in Cornwall has launched this month which makes it easier for people to access the support they need.

The form has been developed by Cornwall Council following feedback from people with experience of the safeguarding process and can be used to report concerns about adults experiencing abuse or neglect.

It can also be used by professionals or if you yourself are experiencing abuse or neglect.

Cornwall Council Cabinet member for adult social care and health Cllr Andy Virr said:

“The form was developed based on feedback from people across Cornwall. The team have mapped best practice across the country so that it is even easier for people to make a disclosure.

“The use of the online form also reduces the average turnaround time from the point where concerns are identified to the safeguarding service, to then make enquiries into the issue. All of this means residents will get the support they need much more quickly.”

Information about safeguarding adults and a link to the form can be found on the council's safeguarding adult webpages.
