Find out more about working in care at Royal Cornwall Show

Proud to Care Cornwall will be at this year’s Royal Cornwall Show to attract more people to work in Cornwall’s care sector.

This year’s show is taking place at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre in Wadebridge on 8, 9, 10 June. The team will be there to encourage more people to consider care as a career, with care providers also on hand to talk about specific vacancies they have.

There will be 20 providers attending the show across the three days with some bringing along the people they support to tell their story about the difference care workers have made to their lives.

Cornwall Council cabinet member for adult social care and health Cllr Andy Virr said:

“The Royal Cornwall Show is a very popular event where many of Cornwall’s farming community attend, along with other interested parties. It’s an ideal opportunity to meet people who might be interested in care, and I’d urge anyone attending to visit the stall for a chat.

“Whenever we speak to people who currently work in the care sector they always encourage people to give it a go if they are thinking about it and that they have never looked back.”

Cornwall care provider Hft who are attending the event said:

“We are excited to be joining Proud to Care at the Royal Cornwall Show and are keen to chat to people who are considering a support worker role. Whether you are experienced or brand new to health and social care, we would love to tell you about how you can be part of the Hft team, making a difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities.

“Please pop along to meet us at the stand and we’ll tell you about the fantastic training opportunities and benefits available with Hft. You will also get the chance to meet some of our staff and some of the people with learning disabilities who we support.”

You can find Proud to Care Cornwall near the main entrance at stand 321.

You can also visit the Proud to Care Cornwall website to see what current vacancies are available and apply for a role.
