Town Centre Revitalisation Fund breathing new life into communities across Cornwall

The Buttermarket in Redruth

Cornwall has been bucking the national trend of high street decline in part thanks to £4 million of targeted funding provided by Cornwall Council over the past five years.

Since February 2020, the authority has been investing in projects in towns across Cornwall through the Town Centre Revitalisation Fund., which will come to a conclusion at the end of this month.

All corners of Cornwall have benefitted from the funding, with projects supported in towns from Redruth to Newquay to Helston and Bude.

This short video showcases three projects that have been supported through the Town Centre Revitalisation Fund with great impact.

Cllr Louis Gardner, Cornwall Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economy, said: “Cornwall Council has made a decision to invest £4m of our own money into towns across Cornwall, because we really believe in the importance of our towns.

“They are the backbone of the Cornish economy and each of them have a role to play in delivering Good Growth.

“Town Centre Revitalisation funding is supporting communities to fall back in love with their town centres.”
