A new programme to help businesses in the manufacturing industry use digital tools to boost productivity, reduce costs and accelerate growth has been launched by the Good Growth Programme.

Digitisation for Manufacturers (D4M) provides a comprehensive suite of digital adoption solutions and offers a high-quality blend of diagnostics, digital application design, implementation, and impact evaluation, to enable greater use of digital monitoring systems for manufacturing businesses.

Louis Gardner, Cornwall Council portfolio holder for economy, said:

"The Good Growth Programme opens the door for all businesses with the ambition and capacity to grow, offering them the opportunity to access tailored support.

“This comprehensive programme goes beyond traditional offerings, providing scalable solutions specifically designed to suit manufacturing businesses of all sizes. Cornwall Council believes in empowering growth and innovation, and the business support funded by The Good Growth Programme reflects our commitment to supporting businesses on their journey to success."

Delivered by Oxford Innovation Advice on behalf of the Growth Hub, and in partnership with the University of Cambridge and their Institute for Manufacturing, D4M will deploy the ground breaking 'Shoestring' methodology to employ low cost, off-the-shelf components to design and install customised applications to drive efficiencies.

Additional specialist advice will be on offer to help businesses improve their systems and processes to drive improvements in performance and management skills and provide employees with hands-on digital skills and digital confidence.

Manufacturers can find out more and sign up on the Growth Hub website.

Manufacturing business support Grant funding focussed on digital adoption for manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is also available through the Growth Hub, and businesses can benefit from both to help realise their growth ambitions.
