Motions concerning vaping and children, cuts to winter fuel payments and the preparation of Education Health and Care Plans have all been submitted for debate when Cornwall Council meets in Truro next week.
The appointment of an interim Monitoring Officer and a review of the allocation of seats on committees will also be on the agenda for the meeting in the Council Chamber at County Hall (Lys Kernow) on Tuesday.
There will also be an opportunity for Cabinet members to be questioned by members of the public and their fellow councillors during the meeting.
The Chairman of the council will decide which of the submitted motions can be debated on the day, and which will be sent to a committee for discussion.
Cllr Linda Taylor, leader of the council, said: “These full council meetings are a vital part of Cornwall’s democratic process, and a chance to meet with colleagues from across the chamber and hear the issues their residents are raising.
“They are also an opportunity to conduct the business vital to the smooth running of the authority – from appointing an interim Monitoring Officer to ensuring the correct representation on our committees to reflect the political make-up of the council.”
Next week’s meeting, which starts at 10.30am, can be viewed from an adjacent room at County Hall by members of the public. You can also watch proceedings live via our webcast service.
