The leader of Cornwall Council, Cllr Linda Taylor, has met with the First Minister of Wales to reaffirm both nations’ commitment to the Cornwall-Wales Collaboration agreement signed in July 2023.
She met with Eluned Morgan MS, who was elected as First Minister in August last year, at Groes-wen Primary School in Cardiff, a new Welsh-speaking school, to celebrate the agreement’s work on celebrating language and culture.
In addition to viewing first-hand the investment the Welsh Government had made in encouraging the use of the Welsh language, the FM and Leader discussed the impact of second and holiday homes on communities in Wales and Cornwall, and other issues of mutual interest that will provide a focus for further joint working during 2025.
Cllr Taylor said: “I was delighted to meet with the First Minister today, it will help strengthen the relationship between Cornwall and Wales, and I look forward to working together to share best practices and explore where we can support each other in our areas of mutual interest.”
