VapeANON

What is VapeANON?VapeANON.com logo

VapeANON is an innovative scheme to tackle youth vaping and the supply of vapes to persons under the age of 18.

In 2024, the Cornwall Council led Annual Conversation took place with representatives of young people across Cornwall and tackled the difficult issue of youth vaping. Strong voices were heard from the participants. They expressed worry over the impact that vaping was having on their school experience; along with concern for their friends that used vapes. Most importantly, they wanted things to change.

Based on this feedback, VapeANON was born. VapeANON offers an anonymous reporting website, aimed at young people. It enables them to report any information or concerns they have about the supply of vapes to under 18s.

VapeANON website

Cornwall Council's Trading Standards operates the VapeANON website, as part of their remit to enforce legislation of age restricted goods and services.

The scheme is supported by Cornwall Council's Public Health Service and secondary schools across Cornwall.

Registered schools

VapeANON works closely with Cornwall’s secondary schools to ensure that the information received is used to prevent the supply of vapes to under 18s.

The focus is on tackling supply within local communities, peer-to-peer supply at school, and vaping within the school.

So far, the following schools are signed up to the scheme:

  • Brannel School
  • Camborne Science and international Academy
  • Helston Community College
  • Humphry Davy School
  • Mounts Bay Academy
  • Mullion School
  • Newquay Tretherras School
  • Ninemaidens APA
  • Saltash Community School
  • St Ives School
  • Torpoint Community College

Our aim is for the scheme to be adopted by every secondary school in Cornwall.
