St Austell to A30 link road


The St Austell to A30 link road is now open and connects the old A30 near Victoria to the north and the A391 at Stenalees roundabout to the south. The new 3.9 mile single carriageway road is a vital link that brings opportunities to the area including:

  • improving economic growth by upgrading links to St Austell from the rest of the United Kingdom
  • making it easier to get to Cornwall’s growing employment sites.

Contractor Alun Griffiths are completing the construction of the new road. Construction commenced on 4 July 2022 and the road opened to traffic on 20 May 2025. Works to complete footways, bridleways, cycleways and landscaping is ongoing, with full completion anticipated by the end of 2025.

Now the new road is open the changes within the surrounding villages will be assessed to analyse the impacts and benefits that the new road has provided.
