School or college is not the only option. Adult Education offer a variety of courses throughout Cornwall to young learners aged 16-18. This may be extended up to 24 if they have an Educational Health Care Plan working with our partners.

The minimum age for most courses is 16 - you must be 16 on or before 31 August 2025.
Adult Education uses the Education and Skills Funding Tuition Fund to support disadvantaged learners. Find out about the 16-19 Tuition Fund.
PoS - Programme of Study
Qualifications and skills with built-in work experience. This is for young people aged 16-18, or 16-24 with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP). You can progress to a higher level or into work.
SI - Supported Internship
For a young person aged 16-24 with an EHCP. You can learn in the workplace and gain work experience. The goal is to progress into sustainable employment.

Through our Learn/Work Your Way courses we ensure the right environment for each student. We make sure it's tailored to support them on their journey to independence, building skills both for life and in the workplace. |

Kehelland College offer three one-year, progressive programmes designed to build confidence, independence, and employability. Set on a 16-acre horticulture site near Camborne, Kehelland College offers a blend of classroom learning and practical work experience tailored to each student. |

PoS and SI | Learn2 Cornwall Ltd, established in 2021, offers specialised education and adult social care programs for young people. We provide skills, qualifications and opportunities to help students transition into adulthood. Our nuturing environment has small class sizes and high levels of support. Students praise the supportive staff, the safe and friendly environment, and focus on building confidence and independence. |

PoS and SI | We focus on wellbeing, nature and care for the environment. Students study horticulture, community, woodwork, cooking, arts/crafts, outdoor skills and healthy living with access to learning and wellbeing mentors. They also get a free cooked lunch, which they can help to cook. We engage with employers like Newquay Zoo and Cormac to provide progression opportunities. |

ReachOut Creative Futures |
PoS | We support EHCP learners 16-24 to become more confident and self-reliant, and improve mental resilience. Our programme offers a variety of 'Arts Awards', vocationally based courses and work experience. This includes supporting the running of our cafe. Classes are very small with individualised support meeting the needs of all learners. |

United Response |
PoS and SI | Cornwall Supported Employment is part of United Response and have been providing employment support since 2009. The programme is designed to help young people overcome barriers to entering the world of work. Supported by specialised Employability Tutors and Job Coaches, young people get opportunities in real world settings relevant to their interests and skills with the potential outcome of paid work. |
Learners can be from anywhere in the county. Assistance with transport costs and bursaries may be available.
