About us

The Digital Inclusion team is helping people in Cornwall access digital equipment and expertise. So they can do more online.

Why? Because we are living in an increasingly digital world, and no one should be left behind. Being confident online can help improve health, wellbeing and independence. This is because it opens up access to services as well as giving people a way to connect with friends and family.

What we do

We work with volunteers and partner organisations to help people get online and close the digital divide.

How? By providing free, nationally recognised training and device loans for organisations who work with people who are digitally excluded.

“In the past month our support has included helping users to communicate through social media, online messaging and email. We provided guidance on researching health topics, accessing work-related content and participating in online learning.” - organisation with a Community Digital Champion in Cornwall

From community nurses and care staff, to volunteers at your local food bank or community group. We’re building a network of Community Digital Champions in community settings across Cornwall. This team are able to spot digital poverty and a lack of confidence getting online... and help out.

Device and connectivity loans

If you work in a local community group or organisation in Cornwall you can access free Device and Connectivity loans.

“A few of my participants are socially isolated and unable to connect to the community due to mental health struggles. The laptop has given them the chance to engage at their own pace.” - current Digital Champion

This allows you to borrow devices and mobile Wi-Fi free-of-charge, for use within your organisation. These can used by your staff, or loaned out to members of the public to help them get online and help themselves.
