Cornwall has a rich cultural heritage with its own language and traditions. We want to make sure that Cornish heritage and customs not only survive but thrive and evolve.

The Cornish were recognised by the UK Government as a national minority in 2014 with the same status as the Welsh and Scottish. As part of the Devolution Deal for Cornwall in 2023 the UK Government awarded funding to Cornwall Council for a set of Cornish Distinctiveness Projects. There are over 30 projects in four main areas which will be delivered in summer 2024.
