Interactive mapping
You said, we did
Thank you to everyone who has given us feedback about the new mapping. The software has been updated which has allowed us to make a few more improvements.
Map layers:
The layers are organised in groups. These groups are switched on by default. They are now also expanded by default.
The layers inside the groups are switched off by default.
If a layer name is grey, you need to zoom in further to see the features.
Restore experience state:
When you open the mapping, the Restore experience state banner appears. Click Accept to restore the map extent and layer visibility where you left off.
The banner disappears automatically after 10 seconds.
It only appears if there is any saved state information in the browser cache. If you clear your cache, the banner does not appear.
Search:
When you search for an address or place, the map doesn't automatically pan to the first result in the list.
The original mapping was built on technology that is no longer supported. It will eventually stop working and we will not be able to fix it.
Accessibility
Cornwall Council strives to meet the needs of computer users with visual impairment or other conditions that limit accessibility.
The interactive mapping website is graphic-intensive in its nature. Due to this, these maps of Cornwall cannot be presented in an accessible format.
If you would like assistance with this please contact us:
