Reserve store collection
Your library card allows you to borrow items from any library in Cornwall, not just your local branch. You can also borrow titles from our reserve store, these are items that are not on any of our libraries shelves.
The reserve stock is made up of the following:
- over 50,000 non-fiction books, selected for their content and long-term value
- over 4000 fiction titles, including literary classics and works of lasting importance
- foreign novel reserve, including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian and some other European languages
- junior fiction reserve, a small collection of chiefly junior classics
- Cornwall Centre lending stock comprising an extensive loan collection of titles on topics relating to Cornwall
All titles are available for loan and are listed on our library catalogue. You can reserve them and they will be sent to your local library for collection. These books cover all subjects. They provide an invaluable resource for researchers and students. The stock has been collected over many years. It is continually being extended and updated.

The languages for our foreign titles include:

A small collection is available for loan in many branches.
Bilingual picture books for children are available in branches in:
- Arabic
- Chinese
- Spanish
- Turkish
- Urdu
- Some other languages
