Tom Palmer's Library Invasion
This May half term, Cornwall Libraries is thrilled to welcome, award‑winning children’s author Tom Palmer, for an extraordinary tour of all the libraries in Cornwall. From St Just to Bude and all points between, Tom is hitting the road with stories, books, and boundless enthusiasm as part of his role as Cornwall Libraries Ambassador for the Year of Reading.
Tom will be meeting young readers to talk about his brand‑new book, If the Invader Comes, a gripping adventure inspired by real wartime events, real landscapes, and real Cornish courage, bringing to life an era that shaped communities across the Duchy. Perfect for children who love history, mystery, and a page‑turning tale, the book offers a powerful glimpse into the past through the eyes of a young protagonist. Perfect for children 7+
At each stop, families can look forward to a lively, FREE and informal session including:
A Q&A with Tom about his new book
A look inside his notebooks and research process
A discussion about how he became an author
The chance to purchase Tom’s books
The first 5 families to attend will receive a free signed copy of Tom's book.
