This page contains the policies required for the Council’s flexible external remote access. If you are authorised to use this system using an external partner account, then please refer to the sections below.
Partner Accounts
This section contains the policies and rules that apply to the use of Cornwall Councils remote access service which must be adhered to when using the service. This applies to any individual who is authorised to access Cornwall Councils network and information systems, including employees of the authority, contractors, casual and agency workers, customers or employees from other organisations.
Your account will be activated when you have informed Information Services (IS) Service Desk that you have read, understood and agreed to the Third-Party ICT Supplier Acceptable Usage Policy.
ICT Policies for Remote Access
Users of the service will need to be aware of and adhere to the following policies.
Additional corporate and system policies may apply, including policies relating to specific applications. If you are in doubt as to which policies apply, please consult the system owner, your departmental contact or the person who originally authorised your access.
Rules for the Use of Soft Token
There are rules that apply to the use of your access token and your secret Personal Identification Number (PIN). The rules below will need to be adhered to:-
- Your PIN must remain secret at all times, and you must not disclose it to anyone.
- If you suspect that your PIN has become known to another party, you must report this immediately to the IS Service Desk via chat
- If your use of the service is terminated or if you have no further need to use it, your account and soft token will be deleted
- All contact with IS should be made to the IS Service Desk via chat
