A discretionary loan of up to £25,000 (£10,000 for Park Home owners) to help meet the cost of hazard removal, repairs and energy efficiency measures.
Applicant conditions for owner-occupiers
Unlikely to be able to access mainstream lending (for example, due to employment/income status, credit history, age, or other circumstances) and
- repairs are deemed necessary or
- deemed to be in fuel poverty or
- with children under 16 years of age or
- with long-term health issues or disabilities or
- park home owner-occupiers on licensed sites
Properties must be the main or only residence. Second homes and holiday lets are excluded.
Applicant conditions for private landlords including HMOs and single occupancy dwellings
- A tenancy agreement or Cornwall Council Private Sector Leasing (PSL) agreement in place or is expected to be in place shortly
- There are no ongoing possession proceeding, for example Section 8 or Section 21
- No ongoing active prosecution or civil penalty proceedings
- The property may or may not have had a notice served. Applications can either be proactive or as the result of a tenant complaint
- For licensable HMOs, a valid application must have been submitted or a licence is currently in place
- If part of the property is used as a holiday let, tat unit will not be eligible for funding
- Retrospective applications will not be accepted
All necessary permissions must be in place, for example planning permission or building regulations approval.
