About Homes Cornwall
Homes Cornwall is a Cornwall Council initiative to;
- release surplus public land and
- work with trusted partners to deliver new homes for local people.
This public-private partnership combines;
- Council land with
- private sector expertise
- and finance
to accelerate housing delivery.
Our ambition
- 800 acres of public sector land identified for housing
- Around 7,000 homes planned, including affordable and market rental
- First 1,000 homes on site by 2029
- Supporting the Government’s target of 4,421 homes per year in Cornwall
Why it matters
Cornwall faces a housing crisis, particularly in the private rented sector. Homes Cornwall aims to:
- Increase affordable housing supply
- Provide market rented homes with trusted landlords
- Prioritise homes for local people
How will we deliver
We want to take a collaborative approach by working with private sector partners, including registered providers, to being forward schemes on the Council’s surplus land.
