Cornwall Council is committed to tackling the housing crisis by using surplus public land to create thousands of homes for local people.

About Homes Cornwall

Homes Cornwall is a Cornwall Council initiative to;

  • release surplus public land and
  • work with trusted partners to deliver new homes for local people.

This public-private partnership combines;

  • Council land with
  • private sector expertise
  • and finance

to accelerate housing delivery.

Our ambition

  • 800 acres of public sector land identified for housing
  • Around 7,000 homes planned, including affordable and market rental
  • First 1,000 homes on site by 2029
  • Supporting the Government’s target of 4,421 homes per year in Cornwall

  • Increase affordable housing supply
  • Provide market rented homes with trusted landlords
  • Prioritise homes for local people
