HDRC Cornwall community small grants fund is now open for new applications
We are giving voluntary organisations in Cornwall a chance to apply for funding. This is part of the Community Small Grants (CSG) Fund from HDRC Cornwall. The application window is open from Monday 16 March 2026 to midday on Tuesday 21 April 2026.
The Fund is part of the larger HDRC Cornwall Programme, which is funded by the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR). Its aim is to boost research capacity and capability in Cornwall. This will then improve evidence-based decision making within Cornwall Council. This is done by collaborating with partners in academia and the community. The CSG Fund aims to identify community research priorities and meet local needs for more research funding.
The Fund helps community organisations in Cornwall research 'health determinants.' These factors include housing, work, education, and access to services. These factors can impact on the physical or mental health of people. We have broad priorities. We invite community organisations, no matter their research experience, to think about what they want to study. This research can focus on issues that affect the health of people in their communities. For example, it might mean reviewing a mental health project. It could also be exploring transport issues for locals, or trying a new outdoor activity. It can be anything that boosts knowledge or improves health outcomes for people in Cornwall.
The CSG Fund supports research projects that help people in Cornwall. This includes service development, reviews, evaluations, and best practice development. It also aims to show impact by asking relevant research questions.
The following resources will help with your application.
We will be hosting 2 webinars that will introduce the fund and be an opportunity for anybody considering applying to ask questions. They will both be identical so just attend one. They will be on 23 March at 10am, and 1 April at 12 noon. Please email us for the Eventbrite link to register: hdrc@cornwall.gov.uk
