Eunan O’Neill – HDRC Centre Director
Eunan is the Centre Director for the HDRC Cornwall. He led the funding bid and setting up the programme. He provides support and guidance to ensure HDRC Cornwall meets key milestones.
Eunan is a Public Health consultant for Cornwall Council. He is the Interim Director for Public Health.
Charlotte Bramwell - HDRC Service lead
Charlotte provides leadership for HDRC Cornwall, and manages the HDRC team.
Charlotte’s professional background is that of a Medical Doctor. She has interests in emergency medicine, multi-morbidity, wellbeing, mental health, and service implementation in the NHS. Her research background is in Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMS). Other areas are Multi-morbidity, health & social care, and wellbeing in the workplace. Charlotte also has an interest in realist methodological approaches. She is interested in how they can apply to the evaluation of complex interventions.
Emily Taylor – HDRC Senior Research Officer
Emily’s research background is in research on ageing. She is particularly interested in the social experience of ageing at all stages of life. She has experience using mixed methods methodologies. These include creative research techniques such as drama and found poetry.
Emily can help with:
- Information about the background to the HDRC programme
- Helping to identify the people in the HDRC most suited to answering your questions
- Questions about the use of Mixed Methods or creative research methods
Dugald Foster – HDRC Research Support Officer: Neighbourhoods
Dugald recently completed a PhD at the University of Exeter (Penryn Campus). He studied altruism and cooperation in humans. After that he worked at the Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology. While there he wrote a briefing for MPs on proposed changes to the Mental Health Act. He’s excited to help develop local research opportunities in Cornwall.
Dugald can help with:
- Study design and developing research questions
- Literature search, systematic review, meta-analysis, and study generalisability
- Impact evaluation
- Statistical analysis and data wrangling
- Behavioural science
Jan Maksymczuk – HDRC Research Support Officer: Sustainable Growth and Development
Jan’s research background is in science. He specialised in mathematics, astrophysics, meteorology and oceanography. He also specialises in project planning and identifying efficiencies.
Jan can help with:
- Developing research questions, planning research activities, drafting bid proposals
- Quantitative evaluation and analysis
- Writing up results (reports, articles, peer-reviewed publications, etc)
- Proof reading
- Training, staff development
Jody Wilson – HDRC Research Support Officer: Communities and Co-production
Jody’s main research background is in community based participatory research. She has a social science degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice.
Jody can help with:
- Community engagement in research
- Co-production
- Survey design
- Appreciative Inquiry
- Project planning / delivery
Luca Owenbridge – HDRC Research Support Officer: Together For Families
Luca’s research background is in social science. This was particularly on international development / security and more recently in education.
Luca can help with:
- Research communication / mobilisation
- Presentation of research findings and engagement work
- Study design and developing research questions
- Writing and proof reading
- Community engagement
- Facilitation
Sam Kammerling – HDRC Research Support Officer: Communities and Co-production
Sam’s research background is in social science (education, mental health). His professional background is in learning and evaluation, organisational culture, and training and facilitation.
Sam can help with:
- Service and project evaluation: planning, delivering, analysing, writing
- Facilitation of learning spaces
- Presentation of research findings
- Community engagement in research
Sophie Bennett – HDRC Research Officer: Care and Wellbeing
Sophie’s research background is in healthcare. She has a specialism in Oncology, and interest in nature, health and wellbeing. She has experience setting up, facilitating and delivering research studies. Sophie also brings a people-centred approach. This comes from experience working closely with patients, service users and their families.
Sophie can help with:
- Support in health and clinical research, from regulatory requirements to ethical considerations
- Research design and research question development
- Conducting literature searches and systematic reviews
- Proof reading and review
Katie Giles – HDRC Engagement and Dialogue Officer
Katie previously worked on engagement for a project celebrating part of the Cornish landscape. She has also created web content for a Cornish charity. Before moving into communications work Katie was an archivist, caring for historic records. For HDRC Cornwall she is keen to share the importance and impact of our work to a variety of audiences.
