About us

We are Cornwall Council Adult Social Care.

We help support people with their care and wellbeing.


What is Beam Notes?

Beam Notes is a tool that helps staff:

  • Record conversations

  • Write down what was said (called a transcript)

  • Create a short summary


Why we use it

We use Beam Notes to:

  • Make sure we remember what you tell us

  • Keep accurate records about your care

  • Spend more time listening to you


What information we use

We may record:

  • Your voice

  • What you say in meetings or calls

  • Information about your care and support


Who will see your information

Only people who need to support you will see it, such as:

  • Social workers

  • Care staff

  • Health professionals (like NHS staff)


Important information

  • A staff member will always check the notes are correct

  • A computer does not make decisions about your care

  • Your care will always be decided by people


Your choice

You have a choice. You can:

  • Say yes to recording

  • Say no to recording

  • Ask us to stop recording at any time

If you say no, we will still support you and write notes by hand.


Keeping your information safe

We:

  • Keep your information secure

  • Only allow the right staff to see it

  • Do not use your information for advertising


How long we keep your information

We keep your information safely for as long as we need it for your care.


Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask to see your information

  • Ask us to correct mistakes

  • Ask questions about how we use your data
