Cornwall Education Business Partnership (CEBP) works with:
- employers
- schools and
- colleges
to help young people prepare for the world of work. Developing knowledge, character and employability skills. This is done through a range of careers related activities and work experience. While increasing social mobility and challenging stereotypes.
What we do
For over twenty-five years, Cornwall EBP has delivered motivational programmes for young people.
Through a range of activities and events we aim to:
- increase enterprise and entrepreneurship skills.
- support meaningful work experience.
- provide impartial ‘real world’ careers information linked to the local labour market.
- raise achievement, aspiration, progression and decision making in young people
- develop Cornwall’s future workforce and economy
Our current programmes
The Yep! programme is for young people aged 16 to 24y years living in Cornwall who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), or are at risk of NEET. This includes those who may have special educational needs or are in other vulnerable groups.
We are one of eleven project partners. We are working together to help young people improve their confidence and resilience in relation to their readiness for work.
Yep! is a staged programme. It starts with an assessment of the young person’s individual circumstances and needs. The offer is based on their readiness for the labour market - the greater the need /distance, the more intensive the support.
If you are interested in learning more, or would like to refer yourself or a young person that you think would benefit from Yep! please visit the website.
The project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Cornwall Council has been chosen by the UK Government as a Lead Authority for the fund. We are responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is part of the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place, and increase life chances across the UK by investing in:
- communities and place
- supporting local business, and
- people and skills

When pupils learn about the world of work before age 11, it can improve their:
- learning outcomes
- behaviour and emotional resilience, and
- can ease the transition from primary to secondary.
Research by Education and Employers has shown that meeting people from the world of work helps to:
- broaden young people’s horizons
- raise their aspirations, and
- increase motivation to learn
which leads to improvements in attainment and also helps tackle stereotypical views.
EBP provides support to primary schools to enrich pupils’ learning about the world of work. We do this by:
- engaging curriculum-based projects
- interactive assemblies, and
- group activities
introducing them to people and the work they do in their communities - and beyond. For example, to enrich the ‘Polar Regions’ curriculum topic for year 1 pupils, EBP arranged a ‘live’ link to meet a real Polar Explorer. They learned about her experiences working at the South Pole. It brought to life her encounters with penguins, walruses and whales while in the Antarctic.
We support Primary Futures. This provides free careers related learning resources to primary schools.
