New Saints Trails sections open at Goonhavern and St Agnes

Walkers, cyclists and horse riders can now access sections of the Saints Trails between Cocks and Goonhavern and St Agnes and Sevenmilestone. The trails follow the path of former railway lines, uncovering areas of Cornish countryside which have been hidden from view for many years.

The Cocks to Goonhavern section forms part of the Perranporth to Goonhavern trail which is expected to open in the spring.

The St Agnes to Sevenmilestone section forms part of a trail to Threemilestone and includes a traffic free bridge crossing the A30 at Chiverton. It is expected to be
completed by winter 2023.

Connor Donnithorne, Cornwall Council cabinet portfolio holder for transport said:

“This project is about connecting communities and supporting residents to make more sustainable and healthy choices about how they travel, whether for work or leisure. It is wonderful to see the first sections now open to the public which will provide access to areas of our wonderful countryside which have been hidden from view for so long.”
