Drivers curious about making the switch to an electric vehicle can find out more at a free event taking place at Stithians Showground on Saturday, May 27.
Residents will be able to test drive a range of the latest electric vehicle models, including vans and bikes, as well as a range of second-hand cars at E-motion: Drive Electric Cornwall. There will be information available about all things electric from choosing the right vehicle and charging to finance and how costs compare with diesel or petrol powered cars.
Running between 9.30am and 4.30pm, the event will also feature bouncy castles, soft play, toy cars, games and a treasure hunt to keep youngsters entertained.

The event is part of the Council’s Drive EV2 Project funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
Drive EV2 will bring 150 new electric vehicle charging points (75 charging units) to Cornwall Council-run carparks this summer, increasing the total number of units across Cornwall to 440.
Charge points are currently up and running at Victoria Square car park in Bodmin, Duke Street car park in Newlyn, Belmont car park in Newquay and at Tintagel Visitors Centre as part of Drive EV2.
SWARCO Smart Charging has been contracted to supply, install, operate and maintain the charging points. Staff from SWARCO will also be on hand to talk about the programme at Saturday’s event.

“With more electric vehicles on our roads and our EV charging infrastructure expanding across Cornwall, this free, family event is the ideal way to find out more about how you can make the switch to driving greener.”
