The Cornwall Music Education Hub was thrilled to be invited to perform at this year’s Boardmasters by local youth project, Livewire Music, who have been performing at the festival for a number of years.

The Hub was asked to bring a number of young artists to perform on the Keg and Pasty stage over the weekend. “This has been a fantastic opportunity for our young performers,” said Tanya Moore, Manager of the Cornwall Music Education Hub.
“We invited local schools to put forward soloists and bands to perform, as well as young people who have been involved with our ensembles or workshops. We hope that opportunities such as this will inspire local young musicians to keep playing as they have missed out on performing to live audiences over the last 18 months. We hope that we will be invited back again next year!”
The young people performing on behalf of the Cornwall Music Education Hub were students from Brannel, Cape Cornwall, Hayle, Humphry Davy, Mounts Bay, Newquay Tretherras, Penryn and Poltair Secondary Schools, plus former Tretherras student and Cornwall County Choir singer, Sam Casey.
The music performed was a mix of cover songs and original compositions written by the young people.
