Go to an event and come home with a job

People looking for work are encouraged to attend a Proud to Care Cornwall hiring event on 7 March where you could leave with an offer of employment.

The event will take place at Heartlands in Pool between 1pm and 7pm. Care providers from across the area will be there to meet people and conduct interviews.

It follows on from the success of an event held in Penzance in January this year where many people walked away with an offer of employment.

Cornwall Council Cabinet member for adult social care and health Cllr Andy Virr said:

“After the success of the last event this is a great opportunity for those in the Pool, Camborne and Redruth area to come along and find out more about working in a care role.

“As many of the providers are locally based often you might not even need a car to carry out your role. You can help people in your surrounding area, making it convenient for you, with the bonus of knowing you are helping your neighbours into such a worthwhile profession.”

There will be a wide range of adult social care sector employers attending with roles available across west Cornwall including Camborne, Redruth, Hayle, Helston, St Ives, Penzance and some coverage in Truro. Employers attending include:

  • The Rainbow Group
  • Calton House
  • Trelawney
  • Kerrier Home Care
  • Pendeen Community Care
  • Anson Care
  • Bluebird Care
  • Swallowcourt

People are encouraged to book an interview slot for the event:

  • Tuesday 28 March, 12 – 7pm at White River Community Church, St Austell.
