Council leader to host 'Listening to You' events across Cornwall

Cornwall Council leader, cllr Linda Taylor

The leader of Cornwall Council, Cllr Linda Taylor, is set to host a number of ‘Listening to You’ events to give residents the opportunity to raise the questions that really matter to them.

The first session will take place in Callington on Friday, 19 April, with further events planned for Falmouth, Helston, Perranporth, Bude, Bodmin Truro, Redruth, Penzance and Saltash.

Everyone is welcome to come along to an event whether to ask a question or just listen to the discussion, with all sessions starting at 7pm.

Cllr Taylor said: “For the past couple of years I have been holding monthly call-ins on Radio Cornwall, and it has been an invaluable opportunity to speak to residents and to hear their concerns.

“However, I'm always aware that we can only fit in a limited number of calls and texts each time and I wanted to do something to give more people the opportunity to have their say.

“These sessions are designed to do just that.  They are not for me to speak on topics of my choosing, they are all about giving the chance for people to set their own agenda and to raise the issues that really matter to them.

“I've also asked my team to arrange more engagement events later in the year, and I will be making sure we visit any towns or areas we cannot get to in the first series of meetings.”
