Could you become a Personal Assistant?
Some families across Cornwall need Personal Assistants to support their disabled child or young person. They are employed under a private arrangement with the family. The role involves building positive relationships and supporting children and young people to access and enjoy activities in their local community. It is a very rewarding job where you have the opportunity to make a positive difference.
The hours are flexible and may increase during school holidays. Being a car driver is preferred but is not essential. All offers of employment are subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Family Based Short breaks
Could you provide short break care for a disabled child and their family?
Our Family Based Short Breaks scheme provides short breaks to disabled children, in a carer’s own home, from a few hours per month up to a couple of nights per week.
- Our service provides you with Supervision, support and training
- Competitive rates of pay

Supporting Change in Partnership workers
- Enthusiastic about supporting disabled children, young people and their families to achieve their aspirations?

Then apply to be a Disabled Children’s Family Worker or a Supporting Change in Partnership (SCIP) Worker.
SCIP Workers work directly with disabled children and their families to identify and work towards the things that are important to them and support them to achieve their goals.
