To report an issue about a taxi, a private hire vehicle or a driver, we ask you to provide as much details as possible. The most common matters reported to us are:
- Refusal to hire
- Driver behaviour
- Driving standards
- Car safety
- Refusal to take a wheelchair
- Wheelchair safety complaint
- Safeguarding complaint for a child or vulnerable adult
- Discrimination
- Hate crime complaints
If the complaint relates to a criminal act, we will refer the matter to the police, if you haven't done so already.
If the complaint relates to a customer service issue, you should contact the private hire operator, if relevant.
Information we need to investigate your complaint:
- Your name, address and telephone number
- The vehicle registration details or plate number (for a Hackney Carriage the plate can be found on the rear of the vehicle)
- Full description of the issue/incident and any witnesses
- Date, time and location of where the incident happened and/or your journey details
- Description of the driver, name of the taxi company and any distinguishing features
