The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Workforce and Skills Board (WSB) is part of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Economic Forum (the Forum).
This Forum is a partnership between the private and public sectors, and it advises on the area's economic strategy.
The Forum and WSB will follow the Government's new approach to economic development after the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
This approach keeps businesses involved in local decisions and allows the private sector to help set regional priorities.
The WSB will support and drive a 'Workforce and Skills Strategy' to make Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly a great place to live and work. It will aim for transformative changes for current and future generations.
The WSB will understand:
- current and future skills needs
- drive necessary changes
- align local skills with both regional and national employment requirements
