Important: The information below now only applies to NHS, Health and Social Care Workers (employed through the local authority) and NHS Co-vid volunteers. All other groups of workers must make payment and park legally according to the usual parking restrictions. Letters displayed in windscreens for any other form of employment or service will not be recognised as valid. You may be subject to receiving a Penalty Notice.
Cornwall Council Car Parks
Parking remains free in our pay and display and pay on exit car parks for you until 17 May 2021 when parking charges are resumed.
Free parking until that time is only for use when on duty. It must not be used when completing tasks e.g. shopping, unrelated to your work.
From 17 May 2021 the Council will no longer recognise the Government- issued NHS Free Parking Pass within its car parks. This is due to the Council having implemented its own Healthcare parking permit scheme. More than 2,500 permits have already been issued to healthcare professionals working in our communities.
On street parking restrictions
From 17 May 2021 the Council will no longer recognise the Government-issued NHS Parking Pass on any on-street parking restriction where it was previously allowed. This is due to the Council having implemented its own Healthcare parking permit scheme, with more than 2,500 permits already having been issued to healthcare professionals working within our communities.
All Care Organisation permits have recently been renewed. They should have distributed to staff by their Care Organisation.
Carers who have vehicle changes can park using their current permit until further notice. Care Organisations wanting permits for new staff should contact email@example.com for advice.
