National Transportation and Highways Survey 2019

The National Transportation and Highways survey is an annual survey which measures public satisfaction against a number of transport related indicators: accessibility, public transport, walking/cycling, congestion, road safety and highways maintenance. Cornwall Council takes part along with authorities across the UK which allows us to benchmark against similar regions. 

It is a unique, standardised, collaboration between Highway Authorities across the UK enabling comparison, knowledge sharing, and the potential to improve efficiencies by the sharing of good practice.

It gives participating authorities:

  • A better understanding of how they are performing in the eyes of their public
  • A means of measuring the impact of service improvements
  • Access to the best performers and the opportunity to learn from the good practice of others
  • Full transparency of data for benchmarking purposes

The survey is undertaken by post and sent to a random sample of residents. For those who don’t receive a postal survey it is also available to complete, by theme, by following the below links:
