Tourist signs

Section 3 of Cornwall Council's highway signing policy covers signage for tourist attractions and facilities in Cornwall.

Tourist signs are traffic signs. Their purpose is to safely guide highway users wishing to reach a given attraction or facility along the most appropriate route. The provision of tourist signs on the highway will be subject to all relevant statutory requirements regarding traffic signs.

The annual period for receipt of applications for brown tourist signs runs from 1 December to 14 February each year. To apply for a brown tourist sign please contact the Highway Manager, telephone 0300 1234 222 or email roadstransportandparking@cornwall.gov.uk to request an application form.
