We will use your answers to form our SEN Strategies for 2021. This will ensure we are focusing on the areas that you feel we need to improve.

We will publish the findings here. More information about SEND events, consultation and feedback is on www.cornwall.gov.uk/senfile.

Children and Young People SEN Engagement

As part of the survey, we encourage educational settings to run engagement sessions. We value feedback from children and young people about their own experiences.

These sessions give children and young people with SEN a voice. It shows them they can make a difference to the support they receive.

We have made the engagement sessions accessible and easy to run to ensure everyone can take part.

To run one of these sessions, simply click here to download the pack.

Once completed, please email answers to send@cornwall.gov.uk

SEN Children and Young People’s Art Exhibition 2020

Alongside the survey and engagement sessions, we are running an art exhibition for children and young people with SEN.

We want to hear from Children and Young People up to age 25 about their experiences of living in Cornwall. This is an opportunity to use their talents to tell/show everyone what is good and what we could do better.

We have two themes for the exhibition:

“Change I want for my future”

“What’s good for me now?”

To enter, simply pick one of the themes above and get creating!

Be Creative! Entries can be:

  • paintings
  • drawings
  • films
  • original songs
  • models/sculpture
  • poems or stories
  • radio shows/podcasts,
  • dance routines,
  • photographs.

Use your talents and interests to tell us about your experiences.

We will have an exhibition in December 2020 of all entries. This will celebrate the talents of, and listen to, the voices of Cornwall’s SEN community.

If you’re feeling very creative then you can send more than one entry.

Every person supplying name and address will receive an acknowledgement of their participation.

When you have finished, send entries to: senartexhibition@cornwall.gov.uk. Please mark them ‘change’ or ‘good’ and give your name and address.

If you cannot email your entries, or want to send by post please contact the email address above to discuss. Please note, if sending work by post we will be unable to return work.
