The Stadium for Cornwall

Cornwall Council, Town and Parish, and the Police and Crime Commissioner elections information and results.

The Stadium for Cornwall is a proposed multi-purpose facility for:

  • sports
  • education
  • business
  • community

It will be the permanent home for the Cornish Pirates and Truro City Football Club.

This is a separate scheme to Langarth Garden Village.  It is being developed through a partnership between:

  • Truro and Penwith College
  • Cornish Pirates
  • Truro City Football Club
The stadium received outline planning approval in January 2012 and Reserved Matters approvals in 2014 and 2020. A linked development at Truro City Football Club’s home ground at Treyew Road was implemented in January 2021. Cornwall Council has now received the £2m ‘TCFC’ stadium contribution as one of the developer’s Planning obligations.

Cornwall Council confirmed its £3m funding support in March 2018. Government funding is still to be confirmed from one of its emerging post-Brexit funding streams. Once the funding guidelines are known the Stadium partners will be able to bid for Government funding.
