Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant

Who was eligible?

You were eligible for the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant if you;

  • had a occupied business rated property
  • were included on the business rate list on the 30 December 2021
  • were impacted by the Omicron variant increase in cases and restrictions

We have contacted the eligible businesses directly by letter or email.

How much were the payments?

Support for hospitality, leisure and accommodation businesses is as follows:

  • Rateable value £15,000 or less = £2667
  • Rateable value £15,001 to £50,999 = £4000
  • Rateable value £51,000 or over = £6,000

Deadline for applications

The application process closed on 18 March 2022.

We are unable to accept any further applications. 

What happened next?

We completed the following checks before making any payments;

  • Government pre payment assurance checks
  • internal fraud checks,

The payments could take up to 14 days.

All payments to eligible businesses will be made by 31 March 2022 – it may take up to a further three working days for any payment made on 31st March to reach the recipient bank account.

Additional Restrictions Grant

The ARG scheme was used to support local businesses who demonstrated a significant reduction in business activity during December 2021.

The applications for this grant are now closed.

Who was eligible?

This additional restrictions grant was deliberately targeted narrowly to sectors of the economy that were severely impacted during December 2021, and only businesses listed below were able to apply for a grant:

  • Food and drink producers, suppliers and distributers
  • Event businesses, entertainment providers and suppliers
  • Taxi drivers, taxi companies and private coach companies
  • Businesses linked to international travel
  • Hairdressers, barbers, beauticians, nail bars, massage and tattoo parlours and other similar businesses

Due to the limited amount of funding, grants were only available for specific circumstances. 

What happened next?

We completed the following checks before making any payments;

  • Government pre payment assurance checks
  • internal fraud checks

Payments were made once we have received and reviewed all applications.

The length of time to pay will depend on the number of businesses that apply.
