If you've spent more time than usual indoors over the festive season now is a great time to get all the family out for a refreshing walk. Enjoy some of our spectacular Cornish countryside and walk off that Christmas pud along the scenic South West Coast Path or explore one of our country parks, gardens or woodlands. Kids got new bikes? Get some exercise and fresh air with a cycle ride on one of our cycle routes across Cornwall.

Improve your health and fitness this year with a range of fitness classes and activities for adults and children at your local leisure centre or pool .

Our adult education centres offer a wide range of subjects to learn and enjoy. You could gain a qualification to improve your career, find a new hobby, or learn something new just for fun.

The online reference library, available through your local library, offers a variety of learning opportunities for free. 

Get to grips with your computer or tablet with a beginner's computer class at your local library. Our free courses are designed for people with little or no previous computer experience. Classes are two hours per week for four weeks, and are free to all Cornwall library members..  

We have lots of volunteering opportunities at the council. Volunteering can be a great way to gain experience, meet new people and contribute to local services which will make a real difference to Cornwall and its communities.

Help the environment by volunteering with one of the many organsiations doing great work for nature.

Consumer advice in Cornwall is provided by the Citizens' Advice consumer service. They provide free, confidential and impartial advice on consumer issues. If something has gone wrong with your purchase contact your local Citizens Advice for help and advice.

If products aren't registered, it can be very difficult to track them down. The ‘Register My Appliance’ website has a simple to follow process for all electrical appliances. You only need the brand name, model, serial number and purchase date. The manufacturer will only contact you in the event of a recall. Your details will not be used for marketing.
