St Just Library

St Just Library is managed by St Just Town Council, supported by Cornwall Council.  St Just Library will be re-opening on the Tuesday 14th July with extended opening hours.

A Click and Collect service will be available from the lobby only.  Please order your books either:

Once your books are ready for collection you will be notified.

You can also return books by dropping them in to the collection box.  The box will be in the library lobby where the books will be quarantined for 72 hours. During this time there will be no charges on any items and this will not be reinstated until the end of September.

Unfortunately, at this stage, we will not be able to offer computer use or a photocopying service.

For the protection of everybody please follow the social distancing guidelines when visiting the library.  Please use the provided hand sanitiser when entering the building. Please also follow the queuing and exit guidelines which will be placed outside for your information.

  • Large free car park opposite the library with six disabled spaces
  • Disabled access via the main entrance  
  • Library is all on one floor
  • National Concessionary bus pass applications are quick and easy to apply for online.  If you do not have access to the internet they can be processed Monday to Friday during normal opening hours. 
  • Recycling bags and boxes - this library doesn’t hold stocks but we can order on your behalf or you can order direct using the request recycling equipment / recycling containment online form.
  • Council Payments - Payments for Council services such as Council Tax or Business Rates cannot be taken at this location, however there are a range of PayPoint and Post Office sites that accept both cash and card payments, with most Post Offices still accepting cheques at no extra cost.  Your account will be updated overnight and many PayPoint stores have longer opening hours, often including weekends, offering greater flexibility and choice.   • Creative Writing - every fourth Monday from 11:00am-12:00 noon, meets in the library (The library is closed on Mondays but open for the Creative Writing group)
  • Family history group - Meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 10am
  • Knit and Natter  - Every Tuesday 2pm-4pm
  • Rag Rugging - every Friday 2pm-4pm, meets in the library (The library is closed on Fridays but open for the Rag Rugging group).
  • Reading groups - meets on the first Thursday in the month at 7.30pm and last Monday of the month at 11am - both reading groups meet in the library (library closed, but open for the reading groups), contact the library for information about reading groups.
  • Spinners - every Friday from noon-2pm, meets in the library (library closed but open for Spinners)
  • Special events - we have a wide range of events taking place in libraries including author talks, drop-in events and much more. Find out if there are any special events taking place in a library near you.
  • Arts Award Supporter
    If you’re aged 7-25 and you’re already doing an Arts Award at school or an Arts Award centre, then we can help. We offer

    • A chance to exhibit your work in our exhibition space
    • Volunteering opportunities for 14yrs+ with Summer Reading Challenge
    • Support with your arts research (forget Google and try books! We have a great collection of books about art, theatre and dance)
  • Bookstart Rhymetime - every Thursday 11.00 am
  • Lego club for children first Tuesday of each month at 3.30 pm
