Our work experience placements

Cornwall Council, Town and Parish, and the Police and Crime Commissioner elections information and results.

There may be teams within the Council who will be able to accommodate a work experience student that has not been included below. Please fill out an online application form stating your area of interest and we will try to accommodate your request.  

Our work experience placements are in various teams across our directorates

The Cornwall Education Business Partnership supports schools in their careers program by linking businesses with schools.  

The manager for this placement works with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).  The manager works on a wide range of projects such as planning and delivering STEM focused careers fairs and is currently supporting schools with their Action for Climate Change.

Tasks you might do or observe

  • Developing a project with schools - project management skills
  • Speaking with and supporting teachers/school staff around their careers offer - learning about the job market and schools careers.
  • An opportunity to develop communication skills with stake holders.
  • Working with young people to develop a project or while involved with an outreach day. - learning skills around working with young people
  • This role is dependent on working in a team with a diverse number of people from students, teachers and council staff - learning really good communication skills
