Story competition for secondary school students

Calling all budding writers, story enthusiasts and book worms: we have an exciting new creative challange for you.

The story can be about anything you like and there are no set rules around style or format. You just need to submit an original story, no more than 500 words in length, and the rest is entirely up to you. 

Your entry will be judged by our panel of experienced creatives, with shortlisted entries being in with the chance of winning a host of amazing prizes:

  • First prize – your story will get turned into a Facebook Live bedtime story and you'll get a £100 book voucher
  • Second prize – a framed illustration of your lead character and a £50 book voucher
  • Third prize - £35 in book vouchers

All you need to do to enter is to submit your entry to us, via post or email, by Friday 22nd May 2020.

The judging panel will be announced shortly and will include early years specialists; published writers and book trade professionals. Winning entries will be announced in June 2020.
