Accountable Care System Inquiry

As part of Shaping our Future, the NHS, Cornwall Council and the Council of the Isles of Scilly are currently developing plans to bring together local health and care services through an Accountable Care System (ACS).

An ACS would bring together the NHS and councils to plan and deliver health and care services, with a focus on improving people’s physical and mental health and wellbeing, and working as a system rather than being organisationally focused.

Proposals for integrated strategic commissioning of health and social care have been the subject of an Inquiry, with the panel - led by Chairman Councillor Andy Virr - due to report back to the Health and Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting on Monday 5 February.
