The UK has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in Western Europe. Most teenage pregnancies are unplanned and around half result in an abortion.

For those who become a young parent this can be a positive experience, and young parents work very hard to care for their children. However becoming a parent young can be incredibly difficult and can result in poorer outcomes for children, mums and dads.  

Our pages look at the work across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in continuing to reduce the teenage pregnancy rate.

The new Sexual Health Strategy for 2016-2023 has recently been published, with a clear ambition for improving sexual health and reducing sexual health inequalities.
